The yearly Bradford Premier League dinner, due to be held at Headingley on Friday 19th November, has been postponed. A statement from the League says:
The league has decided to postpone its annual dinner on November 19 due to the allegations currently impacting Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
It would be insensitive to hold the event in view of the revelations from Asian players about their time at Headingley where the event was due to be held.
The Management Board believes that it is important that everybody that loves cricket works together to ensure all cricketers are treated equally and with respect.
The dinner should be an occasion when everybody in the league feels comfortable to attend so that they can celebrate the achievements of all its successful teams and players. That is not the case at the present time.
The league hopes a date will be found to honour the achievements from the 2021 season when the whole of its cricketing community can come together as one.
They go on to say:
We will be contacting all clubs shortly regarding the refunding of monies and will start a search for a new date and venue for the event. Please refrain from making contact by telephone at this time. If you have any queries please email them to email@example.com
